"I just wanted to thank you for the fine product you guy's
make. I wish I would have found you earlier on the web, I would
have saved myself a lot of time. I was pleasantly surprised
of the ease of operation of the wheel, and I am finding new
way's to use this tool every day. The potential of the wheel is
truly amazing.
Here is a picture of my second project with the English-Wheel.

I Have assembled my wheel and love it. Great
video Cal...thanks. I am happy to find that it worked so
well on .080 5052 aluminum. Well, here is a PIC of my
shark that was done using a sand bag, and as soon as I
finish my next piece with the wheel I will send a PIC of
that too. www.forraimetaldesign.com

recently...
Now remember I'm an art teacher.....
so I couldn't leave it "plain"...(grin)...
The e-wheel makes me laugh every time
I go by it-kind of a symbol of how fun
metal is for me-if I'm making something
out of metal I'm usually smiling!
Thanks again for ALL your help and
for the speedy delivery of the kit.Off topic-I've
chopped the top
2 inches on my 36 Dodge this week.
The wheel is going to come in real
handy when I extend the cab 12 inches
and have to make panels!

I received wheel Friday afternoon and I am very happy with my
investment. I
did not put it to use just yet because I didn't expect it to be
so super
duty for a bench top model. Compare to others I have seen on the
internet
and now I don't have anything to mount it to. Thanks for such a
wonderful
quality tool.

"Hi Cal, How are you doing these days with your
power hammers? Mine is just peachy and continues to do
it's job although thanks to your recommendation about
getting a pullmax I now have two, a P-9 on which I
installed a pneumatic lifter with a foot switch, and a
D-3 for backup. They usually do most of the work with the
power hammer smoothing out the lettuce. I've made quite a
few domes over the past 5 years and I always remember
your telling me that the power hammer couldn't make
basketballs in a matter of minutes. Well maybe not in a
few minutes but in 20 or 30 I can in stainless on the
pullmax with some dies I've made. Radius of
say 6 inches anyways."

This From Ray...
Hi Cal and Joyce,
The kit arrived in good shape it was well packaged!
I am very happy with it. The ram that rides in
the dove tail that
holds the upper die needed a bit of additional fitting. The gib
was a bit tall
and some of the edges needed a radius to fit the dove tail. I
scraped it all
in. I remember what you said about not running them to tight.
This is a very good kit. I am very happy with it. I
did the e wheel doing the
hammer, what's next?
Best wishes for a happy new year
Ray

| "I thought that you might like to see photos of
the first project that I am doing that uses my Bench Top
english wheel to shape the metal. The piece is not
finished yet. It will be a bowl... the shaping went quite
well. I used a globe as a buck, taking advantage of the
marked latitude and longitude lines to help me make a
template of a section. The six copper sections were
shaped on the english wheel, flanged and put together
with brass rivets. I wanted a textured surface to hold
patina later, so I put that on with the english wheel
also. I textured one of those extra caster top wheels
with sharp punches and rolled that texture into the
surface as the last step of rolling. I have had a lot of
other projects to keep me busy but I hope to finish this
bowl soon and start another. Thanks for your help in
getting the special wheels made for experimenting on
special effects. - David Luck Iowa City |

A quick note to say that the
benchtop english wheel I ordered arrived safe
and sound. I also wanted to say how happy I am with how
well made it is.
It is hard to find anyone that wants to but a good product
together that
they can be proud of. This wheel speaks volumes about pride
and
craftsmanship. Thanks for making a product that shows there
are still
people out there that still care.

The Bench-wheel arrived today and have set it up and
everything is fine. It looks great, nice heavy frame and
beautiful wheels. I have already "wheeled" a
piece of copper on it, it seems to form quite readily. I
think that I will like it. Here is a picture of some of the work
I do.

come to know each other quite well. I did discover that it has
one use that you did not advertise.... fingernail trimmer!!!! Do
not get in a hurry with this thing!!!!! Other than that it works
great and I am learning something new every day. We made a patch
panel for the rear wheelwell tubs on an old Chevy, and the next
project is to fill the spare tire hole on the right front of my
1938 Dodge pickup.

know I have finished making the benchtop wheeler frame ...and am
very pleased with it. I spent several months searching the
internet for an affordable wheeler here in the UK. I could find
used ones, which was fine, but they were full size with a cast
frame which I don't really have the space for, weigh about half a
ton (expensive to move) and only had one or two lower wheels. So
the Metalcraft BENCHTOP KIT
was a very attractive option even with the carriage charge.
Many thanks for all your help and I will send you a pic of the
wheeler when the brackets are on and a pic of my first panel,
which will prabably be a boot lid (trunk) skin.
