Upper Yoke & Wheel
It is VERY IMPORTANT for the upper wheel to be supported on both sides to insure alignment and prevent flexing or permanent damage due to pressure on the upper wheel. Our wheel is constructed with a 6" solid billet machined to precise tollerances. The material used is 4140 pre-heat treated steel.

Lower Yoke
Our Lower Yoke is cast iron finish with an acid treatment called tool black. It is fitted with adjusting screws to perfectly align lower anvil to upper wheel. This is a VERY IMPORTANT feature of our lower yoke construction.

Shaft and Sleeve Assembly
The sleeve is made up of DOM (Drawn Over Mandrel) tubing 1 1/2 OD with 1/4" thick wall to ensure strength and alignment. The shaft is 1" 1144 solid rod machined to fit for a precise fit to control lower yoke movement and alignment.

Frame Construction
The Frame is constructed of 2" X 3" X 1/4" wall tubing. Corners of the frame are reinforced with gussets for added strength, and finished with a textured powder coat.
This is a VERY STRONG frame!

Hand Wheel
The Hand Wheel is made of cast Iron finished
with tool black. Screw is 3/4" acme
thread rod to insure stength.

Anvils Included
The highest crown anvil is 2 3/8".
This anvil does not have a flat spot in the center,
the contact on this anvil is about 1/8" wide.
The next anvil is a 3 1/4" radius,
this anvil has a 1/4" flat spot in the center.
The next anvil is a 5 1/2" radius,
this anvil has a 3/8" flat spot in the center.
The next anvil is a 8" radius,
this anvil has a 1/2" flat spot in the center.
(This anvil is used for finishing and smoothing your part.)
The flat areas in the center of the anvils
are extremely important to make smooth
and consistent compound curves.

The lower anvils have to be properly shaped to get smooth consistant compound curves. We believe this tool to be the highest quality possible at an affordable price. If you have small parts to make or you are just getting started as a panel beater, this is the way to go. Four anvils come with this Benchtop English Wheel.
